Find Out What We Do

"Helping athletes and active adults get out of pain, prevent injury, and get back to the things they love to do."

Cupping Therapy

While the popularity of cupping has significantly increased in the past recent years, it isn’t a new practice. In fact, it was originally used by the ancient Eastern Medicine cultures. It is a form of alternative medicine that is performed by placing cups on the skin, in order to create suction; creating a negative pressure gradient underneath the cup. Today, it is used as a way to relieve pain, promote relaxation, enhance blood flow, decompress tissue, and ease inflammation.

Manual Therapy

We receive many first-time physical therapy patients who come in thinking their treatments will be painful, uncomfortable, or even agonizing due to the condition they are in. However, that is not the case at all! Your treatment plan will likely include several different therapies, all aimed at helping a specific function of your body. Some exercises may focus on improving your balance and strength, while others may focus on increasing your range of motion. Manual therapy is a crucial part of a treatment plan, as it helps to reduce pain and swelling, minimize inflammation, and increase range of motion.

Kinesiology Taping with RockTape

There are many reasons why Kinesiology taping may be useful to you in your healing journey. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Decreasing swelling - Injury, surgery, or even simple overuse of a certain part of your body can also result in swelling. Kinesiology taping helps to decrease swelling by limiting the pressure between the skin and the tissues underneath. This allows any buildup of fluid to travel freely and promotes easier movement of the affected area.

  • Relieving pain - One of the biggest benefits of Kinesiology taping is pain relief. By blocking pain receptors, your brain doesn’t receive the painful messages from the affected area any longer, and the muscles relax as a result. This allows for more mobility, quicker healing, and a more comfortable treatment process overall.

  • Stabilizing joints - Some conditions may make it difficult for joints to stay in place. Kinesiology taping can help stabilize and provide support for these joints, while still allowing them to move around their intended range of motion.

  • Managing scar tissue - This is an especially common treatment after an injury, surgery, or another type of trauma has occurred. Healing from trauma can cause a thick band of scar tissue to form over the affected area, which can inhibit signals of movement. Kinesiology taping can provide a much-needed stretch to the scar tissue, making the signals of movement easier to communicate, and thus increasing your mobility.

Sport Specific Rehab

Therapeutic Sport Specific exercise is a great way to restore function and return to sports pain-free. Many people assume that anyone participating in physical therapy treatments is recovering from recent surgery or is just recovering from a serious injury. However, that is not always the case. Physical therapy provides a multitude of benefits for any athlete wishing to restore their strength, endurance, flexibility, or stability.

Detailed Functional Movement Assessment

The Functional Movement Assessment created by Dr. Jaime Mor is a way of grading and assessing the entire body in a system that documents global movement patterns that are key to normal function. By screening these patterns, we readily identify functional limitations and asymmetries. These are issues that can reduce the effects of functional training and physical conditioning and distort body awareness.

We can use this to target problems, unknown problem areas, and track your progress. To find out more about how our Functional Movement Assessment may benefit you, contact us today.

Injury Prevention aka Preventative Rehab

Injury prevention is often the forgotten aspect of an athletes day-to-day. Our team integrates our full Functional Movement Assessment and an appropriate plan for you to maintain where you are. We will identify any weaknesses, movement imbalances, range of movement restrictions, or reduction in stability/motor control.

Once we determine the potential problem areas, we can create an adequate plan for you or your athlete. This is the KEY difference in what youth athletes aren't doing, and the elite/professional athletes ARE doing!

Red Light Therapy

Red Light Therapy is a process of emitting light wavelengths through the skin to stimulate your bodies natural healing and regeneration processes. When delivered within the optimal wavelengths and energy levels, red light therapy protects your body’s cells from further damage, which can otherwise stop the cell’s production of nutrients when you’re stressed or injured. Red light therapy allows your cells to continue utilizing oxygen effectively by minimizing the absorption of bad byproducts. Only red light therapy can reach all the way into a cell’s core to stimulate healing and regeneration to help improve your performance, reduce inflammation and eliminate pain.

Recovery Technology Systems

In addition to our manual therapy & rehab services, we also take advantage of technological advancements in the human recovery space. Tools like Cold Recovery Compression System, Red Light Therapy, Compression Boots (Intermittent Pneumatic Compression), NMES (NeuroMuscular Electrical Stimulation), BFR (Blood Flow Restriction Training ), & Percussion/Vibration devices to elicit and enhance cellular recovery, blood flow, and pain mitigation.

Additional Recovery services are available a la cart, or included as part of our many packages and recovery membership options! Its our goal to provide every advantage to our athletes and clients, so they get the most out of their training, therapy, and life!

Therapeutic Dry Needling

Dry needling is a technique physical therapists use (where allowed by state law) to treat pain and movement impairments. The physical therapist inserts a "dry" needle, one without medication or injection, into areas of the muscle. Dry needling is not acupuncture, which is based on traditional Chinese medicine performed by acupuncturists. Dry needling is a part of modern Western medicine and is supported by research.

Dry needling can release or inactivate trigger points to relieve pain or improve range of motion. Research suggests that dry needling improves pain control and reduces muscle tension. Study findings also show that dry needling can normalize dysfunctions of the motor end plates, from which nerve impulses get transmitted to muscles. This can help speed up the patient's return to active rehab.

Blood Flow Restriction Training

Blood-flow restriction training can help patients to make greater strength training gains while lifting lighter loads, thereby reducing the overall stress placed on the limb. By applying the right amount of external pressure to an extremity, it's possible to maintain arterial inflow while occluding venous outflow distal to the occlusion site.

Corrective Exercise Programming

Corrective Exercise is a technique that leverages an understanding of anatomy, kinesiology, and biomechanics to address and fix movement compensations and imbalances to improve the overall quality of movement during workouts and in everyday life. Corrective Exercise is used to help assess and determine the root cause of imbalances and faulty movement patterns that lead to issues with posture, balance, and total body coordination.

Simply put, this is our ability to create an individual program SPECIFIC FOR YOU based on your anatomy and our findings from an evaluation. You can take this with you, wherever, whenever!
